Crazy Summer

This has been the busiest summer. I don't remember so much going on in the summer time. I thought is was suppost to be slower than school year. The only difference we haven't had homework. Three weeks from Monday we start back to school. My cricut and I did a little work this afternoon.

I forget how mcuh I love to do stuff like this. It has been so long since I have done anything with vinyl. I'm sure with school starting back I will start to use it again because the birthday parties with start back up.

I can't believe how easy this was. I think it only took me maybe 30 minutes. I still have balloons left so I may go back and add some more to make it a little more full. Hopefully I will have some other decorations for the party finished soon.

So life is starting to get back to normal after the tornado. It has been crazy because once we made it back to school after the storm the end of school was just around the corner. It was a crazy month and then we hit summer with full force and now McKenzie's birthday is next week. This year it will be one of the smallest parties we have ever had. We only be having her friends and a few family members. I'm excited because I haven't made anything in a while so now I finally get make one of those ballooon wreaths I keep seeing.

I love the colors in this one but it wasn't really our party colors but McKenzie decided she wanted the bag with just the pink,purple and white so we will see what happens. Here is a picture of what I'm starting with so I hope it goes well.

My hometown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama was hit by a devastating tornado. These are just a couple pictures of my office that I was able to get back into today. As many tornado's as our town has seen I have never seen anything like this in my life. Now we have to find our new way of normal around here.

What a great day for an egg hunt today. Yesterday in our area was awful. We had tornadoes touch down in our town. It was a crazy day outside especially considering we were to suppose to see Sugarland last night and it was outside but it was cancelled. Anyway.. Today was beautiful !! It was a little cool out but McKenzie and her friend Olivia had a great time at the egg hunt we went to. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

So last night McKenzie gave Daisy a bath for the first time by herself. It was funny to see. She got her out and thought she was done until we realized she was still covered in soap. Needless to say Daisy was really soft and clean once she dried off.

Being a Sweet Friend

So this a picture of McKenzie and her new friend Olivia last sunday at her house playing and they decided they wanted shaving cream beards and loving their new Justin Beiber shirts we got the day before. We had been together all day on Saturday and then again on Sunday. Monday Olivia woke sick and ended up in the hospital on Tuesday. It turns out that she had Roto virus and was very sick. She is just now getting to feel better and they haven't been able to see each other so we thought we would send her a little messge.

We sent her mom this text to her and her mom said it brighten her day a little.

Craft Day

So yesterday we had craft day at my cousin's house. It was not my day . I started 3 projects but only finished 1. I think I had so many thoughts in my head nothing was working for me. It wasn't a great day but we had fun. The only thing I did make was so little round fabric hair clips for McKenzie. They still need the finishing touches of some little button or big jewel in the middle. All in all it was a great day.

I LOVE Michelle Hill and all of the things she does. I am so excited for her first on line class!!! I finally got my kit in the mail on Monday. I hope to get to work on it this weekend. It has lots of really cute and neat things I have never done before. Michelle has a website called polka dot whimsy and she has great kits. I use to subscribe but it got to be too much for me to spend monthly when I didn't have time to do them. I decided to splurge on this one and can't wait. I will post the pictures when I finish.

I saw this picture over on Clean and Scentsible's web site. It's craft room from Pottery Barn. A friend of mine has a table kind of like this that she and her husband made. I never thought I would like a table like this but I worked at her house one day and loved it. Now I need to be off for my anual cleaning of my craft room. I think I have post every January where I am cleaning up this room because I can't see the tables.

First Day of School

I can't believe that my baby is in the second grade. I am so glad that she seems really excited to be back in school. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this keeps up. We have a busy year coming up. She wants to join the school choir, take gymnastics and brownies. Did I mention that I am the brownie leader ?? I did not realize that I haven't posted since January!! That is just crazy. Life has been crazy we have finished school and had a birthday party since I last posted. I am still alive and have been busy working with the cricut this weekend. Here are a couple of photos of things I have done.

I made myself a key chain and and made this bag for a baby shower I have tomorrow. I am also in the process of making a diaper cake for the shower but I am taking a break for a few because my fingers are hurting from the rubber bands. Red, White and Green

My Dining room is finallydone. As you can see the room is done in Red, White and Green.

The table runner I made last year with some fabric I had laying around and that is when the red and white came into play for my color scheme. I didn't get a picture but on top of the china cabinet in the garland I have letters that spell out Joy that I cut out with my cricut and painted them red.

Here is my thrift store find that I bought for 2.00. I painted them silver and they made it to the table as part of the centerpiece.

Yes! It is that time again. My tree will be coming out of the attic tonight . My dad is coming over just like he does every year. My plan tonight is for the tree to come out of the attic and be put together and get the lights on it. Needless to say the christmas music will be playing loudly at my house tonight. Just had those times where you just feel like nothing is going your way. That is my time right now. I just don't feel happy at work but of course right now is not the time to look. I just feel so unahappy with everything. I think it's just that time of the year. This friday October 23 will be 8 years since my mother passed away. That is been 10 year ago today that I married my great and wonderful husband. I have been a very lucky girl. We are on an anniversary road trip. We left home yesterday drove up thru Gatlinburg,TN and got on the blue ridge parkway and drove to Ashville,NC. This morning we got up and went to the Biltmore. What a beautiful place that is. Then we went on a slight hike to the highest point east of the mississippi river and WOW. To say the least we have been busy. Tonight we are spending the night in Marion, NC. Tomorrow is just a driving trip. We will get back on the blue ridge parkway which has been soooo pretty and drive to Roanoke, VA and then on to DC on Monday and Tuesday. I will post pictures when we get back.

It's a rainy sunday around here today. It feels so much like fall and it is a nice change. Anyway my cousin let me borrow her cricut expression and vinyl.. yes her vinyl. So I made some cute water bottles for me, McKenzie the girls across the street and a little girl at school. I love them. McKenzie's is in the dishwasher right now to see how it holds up . The pig has bitten twice in my house and McKenzie and Jonathan have the swine flu. McKenzie was diagnosed on Friday and Jonathan today. Me I have an upper respiratory infection. It's crazy in our house. Atleast I was given tamiflu so maybe I will not get it. I will keep you posted. I will be off work tomorrow and then back on Tuesday

So I just realized that since I posted McKenzie has been to 2 concert. We saw the Jonas Brothers on August 16th and Taylor Swift on September 11th. The Taylor picture are not as good as the Jonas Brothers. Their stage was in the round and Taylor's wasn't so we were further away. Enjoy

So meet Gabriella the new member of our family. This is what we got McKenzie for her 6th Birthday last week. She was so excited because I made them matching dresses and their hair was even fixed the same. She doesn't know it yet but friday we are going to Atlanta for the day and going to the American Girl Store as the rest of birthday. The Grandparents are going along for the trip. It should be alot of fun. It's so hard to believe that she is six and 1 month from sunday she starts the 1st grade. Yes I said 1 month. School will start August 5th where did summer go. I better run ...it's almost her bed time.

So today is McKenzie's 6th birthday party. Her actuall b'day is next Tuesday. I still can't believe that she is going to be six. It breaks my heart to wonder where my baby went. So yesterday I started cleaning the "everything" room. I didn't make it very far. I did get my some of my workspace cleaned and did a 2 projects last night. I have been wanting to make these tissue paper pom poms so the kit was on clearance for 5.00 at wal mart so I made one of them and the attempted my own. I threw away the one I made from scratch. The I made a sign to hang by our door in the garage. It's the door everyone uses when they come to our house. I'm not overly happy with it but it will do for now.

It's time to clean up my scrapbook room which really serves more than that one purpose. I think I do this every year. So you can see by the scary photos how bad it is. I also hit the "thicker" jackpot at big lots this morning. Now I just need to use them. I've got so many ideas floating in my head of things I want to do so I need to clean my room so I can get some stuff done. I will post again soon.

It has been a lazy summer weekend at our house. We spent 4 hours yesterday and 2 hours today in pool. Now it's almost Monday and I don't want to go. I can't stand Mondays. This one I know I'm not going to like because it's the first which means statments. This is going to be a long week. Do you dread Monday's as much as I do?? I am such a bad blogger. I am going to make a point to blog atleast once a week. I need to post some new photos of what has been going on. I now have an official 1st grader. I need to post k-5 graduation photos, ballet/Jazz recital and beach photos. We have had a really busy 2 weeks. Now we have a birthday party I am trying plan and wrap my head around that. This post is kind of random and crazy but I am at work right now and everyone else is at lunch so I am just posting what is on my mind right now. It is crazy how when you have disneynut as Id on things you meet so many other disney fans like yourself. I am taking a free organizing workshop this week on www.simplify101.com and I got a message today from "disneyjunkie" and of course their family loves disney too. In this very short message I learned her 10 year wedding anniversary is this september, my 10 year anniversary is in october. The other is she is in Georgia and I am in Alabama. All this and I don't ever know her real name. Anyway gotta run.

.... of school and ballet. Yesterday was McKenzie's end of the year party for school. They went bowling and to Chuck E. Cheese. She had a great time with her friends but it was a long day for all of us. Today we have dress rehersal @ 3:30 for our ballet and tap recital. I just finished rolling her hair and now we are haning out. We played hookie from school today because her teacher wasn't going to be there today and she said several other kids were going to be out so no point in going when I was just going to be getting her out early so she could be ready this afternoon. It is so hard to believe that she is going to graduate from K-5 on Tuesday and then I will have a 1st grader. I will post some pictures soon

We have a Hannah Montana party this weekend so I deceided to make a Hannah Montana Bucket. I think all togerther it cost about 5 or 6 dollars to make the bucket. The only thing I have left is to put ribbon on the bottom and fill it with goodies. I will post the finished project later.

Ever have one of those days or weeks where you just feel like life sucks ? Well that is how I feel. I know that I am lucky I have a house a car that runs a job, a sweet and loving child and the BEST husband in the world and that I shouldn't feel this way but I do. Truth be told all I really want is to be a good wife and a great mother to my great daughter. I wish I could get to a point in my life where I feel like I am doing that. My dream in life at this point is just to be a stay at home mom so I can be involved more in McKenzie's school life. So I guess that is enough of pitty stuff but I just had to get if off my chest. I hope everyone had a good easter and I will post some easter pictures soon.

for Valentines Day. I have gotten into the whole craft world again. I think it has been so long since I've really done anything that I am having fun doing a few little things. Here are a few pictures of some things that me and McKenzie have done. One thing I really liked were the washcloth lollipops I made for my sister-in-laws baby shower last weekend. Also I bought some hearts and hungs them from the light above the kitchen table. Although I guess the day before is a little late to decorate but I guess better late than never. ..for Monday to be here yet. It doesn't even seem like I had a weekend. I was off Friday but I had a eye appointment and then a bunch of errands. On Friday night we went bowling with the neighbors and the girls had a great time. Then on Saturday we had 2 birthday parties. One of which was Jonathan's step-dads surprise party. We had a lot of fun and he was really surprised and had no idea. Today we went to Target with my dad and were there for about an hour and half. I think my dad has an addiction to Target. Every time were out and he calls he always wants us(me and mckenzie)to meet him there. Anyway maybe next weekend will be a bit more restful. Although probably not. I have another eye appointment on Friday morning and then off to school to help out for the day. One other thing before I go. Does anyone else watch the first 48 on A & E. I think I have become addicted to watching it. We set up a season pass on the Tivo and it has been recording like crazy and I just can't stop watching. Hope everyone has a good week.

..just had one of those days where you wondered why you got up and got out of the house. I feel like that today and my work day is just now starting. McKenzie has been awful the last 2 days and we will not even talk about homework last night.I am so tired today and just glad I don't have to work tomorrow. I hope your day is better than mine.

McKenzie didn't go to school today because she had a fever yesterday. She went to the doctor and they gave her some medicine and she went all day with no fever then before she went to be we took her temp and it was 101. I'm going to give the medicine today and tomorrow and see if her fever goes away and if not I guess we will be calling the doctor again. McKenzie isn't the only one sick. My MIL has a mild case of phenomena so keep her in your prayers that she gets well soon.

McKenzie has had a fever off and on all weekend. She seems to be getting worse. I guess I know what we will be doing tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow will include my new car too. I guess we will see.

I told you I would have another post today. We had a family bowling trip today and we had a great time I won both games but only have pictures from the score of the second game. I also have a picture of my scrapbook/sewing/craft/computer room and it looks like a tornado hit. I you look back at my April 11 and 12 post from last year you will see this happens many time thru the year. I think I am going to attempt to start on it this year.

There are alot of christmas pictures of McKenzie and her cousins and friends from school and my MIL and her brothers and father . There is a special picture of a baby in there. One of my best friends growing up Susan adopted a little girl Amelia Grace and she was born on December 22 and weighed 6lbs 4 oz(I think). She was the sweetest little thing. The pictures right above this post is McKenzie the day of her thanksgiving feast at school. The cute outfit came from Jonathan's Aunt that serveral cousins before her have worn. I will have another post soon.

I have been such a bad blogger. I am going to try and be a little better. I hope everyone had a good holiday. Life has been so crazy. My van has been in the shop for 3 weeks and just got it back and today I cleaned it out so that I can hopefully get a new "used" car. Today McKenzie had a 100.8 fever and now she is napping. So i am going to try and clean out my house room by room. Anyway that is about all. I will post again soon.

Christmas Shopping

So have you started your shopping yet? I am just about done with McKenzie's and have gotten a couple of other things. I am thinking that as soon as soon as I get the boxes back in the attic I am going to start cleaning out things in my house. I was watching Oprah a week or so ago and she had Peter Walsh and they are doing this organization thing so I think I am going to hop on board. I will touch base again soon with some pictures.

The christmas tree is up. It's not fully decorated yet but it's up with the lights are on and half the ornaments are on. McKenzie spent the night with her MeMe last night so I set the alarm to get up this morning so I get started all over again. I will post a picture soon.

So I titled this one update since I have been such a bad blogger. Who knew life with a 5 year old was this busy. On this post I have some pictures of Evan's birthday party at the end of September and some disney pictures. I am going to try and set a goal of posting at least once a week. I have some pictures from McKenzie's teddy bear picnic, Halloween at Tannehill and McKenzie cheering so that is my goal hopefully for this week. That is just a few of the things that October has had in store for us. One of the biggest things is that on Friday I found out I am getting another newphew- who will be Connor Gene Donahue. So I will post again soon.

It's so sad

As I type I am in the car on the interstate on my way home from Disney World. It was so HOT !! I don't think I will go back in October again. I will stick to the winter time from now on. Jonathan and I had a good time. We stayed somewhere we had never stayed before so that was nice. My poor husband I know that is not really his favorite place to vacation but he loves me so he went. We ate at Cinderella's Royal table in the castle last night for our anniversary even though it wasn't our anniversary. It was fun and the food was good then we went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It was fun and the fireworks were great. The only bad thing was McKenzie had danceline clinic and danced and halftime at the football game last night and we missed it. My brother filmed it for me so we can see it later today. I have been such a bad blogger and I have got to be better at it. I will try and post a couple of pictures this week. Believe it or not I didn't take that many. See ya real soon.

I am so excited!!! Let me set the scene for you. In about the last 6 to 8 months I have become a huge fan of Michael Bubble. The last time I checked he was touring in Australia and didn't have any more tour dates for the US. Imagine my surprise this morning when I'm on the computer and hear a commerical and they say he's coming to Birmingham and tickets go on sale TODAY !!! OMG!! I'm so excited and can't take it. I just talked to Aunt Martha and she is going to go with. The thing that is even better is that it is the Wednesday after we get home from Disney World. October is looking like it's going to be a great month.!!!

My Little Ballernia

McKenzie started Ballet yesterday. She had so much fun and would not stop talking(imagine that) after class about what all they did. I took this picture after she got dressed yesterday. Don't you hate when you can't get a real smile out of kids. That has been the highlight of our week this week. I get to go friday and be a lunch room mom and help kids get all of their stuff opened. I will have a dancer. McKenzie will start at the Academy of Ballet and Jazz. She is going to be taking the combination class which is ballet, tap, jazz and tumbling. She is starting to get excited and she finally has quit whining about having to wear her hair in a big pony tail. I'm going to try and remember to take my camera with me in the morning so I can take some pictures and post them. I am also excited because I'm almost to the one month mark for my adult only trip to the "Happiest Place on Earth" !!!!

This is a picture of McKenzie this morning before school. On football fridays and the little girls at school wear their cheerleader suits and alot of the little boys wear football jersey's. On days that they have home games the cheerleaders paint faces in the lunch room. She was excited because they are having a "pepper rally" as she says this afternoon for the whole school.

I hope your Saturday has been better than mine. I have only left the couch to go to the bathroom or to the kitchen. I feel like crap. My throat is starting to get a little soar and McKenzie is getting stuffy. I've been watching mostly HGTV or remodeling shows today so I guess what I'm about to tell you shouldn't be surprising. McKenzie has made a drawings of hardwood floors, rugs,t.v and a table for me to design her rrom. Maybe I have a budding designer on my hands

Crazy Week

It has been hard to get back in the school routine. Mckenzie is doing great and we are working on sight words and learning to read. Thursday we got up and she had a fever of 100.1 so she didn't go to school. It didn't take us long to miss our first day of school. She went back to school on friday and I had to take Tinkerbell to the vet for her one year shots. Then yesterday afternoon about 4:20 I took her outside to the bathroom and I noticed her face was 3 times the size it should be. I called the vet and had to take her back and she had a reaction to the shots. I didn't have time to take her picture. I felt so bad and like such a bad mom. Anyway crazy start to our weekend. I hope you have a better weekend.

I can't believe summer is almost over. We have orientation tomorrow at 5:00. I finished McKenzie school supply shopping today. I can't believe that she is 5 years old and will be in k-5. Now my count down is on until Jonathan and I go to Disney World for our anniversary. We are almost at the 2 month point. I told him the one thing I wanted was to eat at Cinderella's Royal Tabel. At disney you can book dining reservations 180 days out. Well we didn't have the exact days so we missed the 180 days and with Cinderella's Castle it books up 180 days out. I have been calling every couple of days for the last month whenever we booked and finally I think my fairy godmother was watching out for me. Yesterday when I called they had one of the days availabe at 6:55 p.m.. Now I can't wait til our trip. Have a good saturday!!!!

So I knew I was fat and out of shape but I really know it now. This wii fit is no joke. I did 20 reps of jakeknifes a.k.a crunches. Today I did 30 and my stomach can feel it now. Since friday I am down .07 pounds not much but as long as it's going down I'm fine with that. So, if you were ever thinking about a wii fit I totaly give it 2 thumbs up. That's all for now. It's been a couple of weeks since my last post. This week we got a Wii and a Wii Fit. If you don't have one it's so much fun. Bowling is the funest thing ever. Jonathan and I are both working out. It has arobics (?) yoga balance training and other things. I am loving it. We are getting ready for school in our house. The countdown in now under 3 weeks. We have our school supplies and are slowly getting ready for kindergareden. I was in Hobby Lobby today and can you believe that they have the christmas decorations out already. I was in heaven just standing there and looking at all the things I want to get in the future. Anyway this is such a random post so I think I will go for now. Have a great weekend.

Where is the summer going ????

Boy the summer is flying away. It is now officially under 1 month till school starts. It seemed like summer would never get here and now it's half way over. Anyway, I am off starting today until Monday, both of our doctors are on vacation. I feel so bad because I haven't been blogging but summer just makes me want to be lazy and boy can you tell by looking at my house. I repainted McKenzie's room last weekend for the 4 th time. How sad is that! The child is only 5 years old and I have painted it 4 times. I just painted below the chair rail and the whole room is white. I know how boring is that? I change my mind too much in her room. I did buy some of those wall decals and they were flowers and butterflies so there is some color in there. Now she feels like a real "big" girl because she now has a satellite receiver and she can watch her cartoons and shows in her and play at the same time. It's so nice to keep her and her toys out of my room. Yes, the parental controls are on she only gets the Disney, Nickelodeon and boomerang channels but she knows no different. I think that is about all that is going on in my life. It looks like I'm going to be doing some major cleaning in my house while I'm off. My craft room/ computer room looks like a tornado hit. I haven't worked on anything in there since the end of May. I have 4 sb kits make that 5 kits in boxes to do. Tomorrow McKenzie will be with one of her grandparents so that may be what I tackle while she is gone. I'll have to post a picture of the craft room later. By the way you can check one of the old posts and see where just a couple of months ago it was a disaster too. I think I'll quit posting now and get back to a little more house work.

Lazy Sunday

What a lazy day. As we speak Jonathan is on the couch snoring with the dog snuggled up to him, McKenzie is playing in her room and I'm watching HGTV. Have you ever had those days where no matter how much you sleep you still feel tired?? That is how I have felt all weekend and both days I have slept til 10:00 or 10:30. I did do something today though. I cooked hamburger steak , gravy, rice and cornbread and now I still have to clean the kitchen. This is kind of turning into one of those rambling posts but I'm kind of playing catch up. Friday McKenzie and I got a haircut and she got about 3 or 4 inches off of her hair and it makes her look so much older. It is now becoming more clear that she is growing up because she is so getting into the new Disney channel movie Camp Rock with the Jonas brothers. I can at least say that the movie isn't that bad. It is definitely better than High School Musical. I think that is about everything for now. I hope you have had a great weekend.
